Photo description
The male is entirely lustrous black slightly glossed bluish. The bill is mostly blue gray, rather conical and pointed. From the veranda at ASA Wright in Trinidad. f/7.1, iso 1600, exp comp minus one and one-third, 1/200. Canon 20D/400DO with 1.4.

Err. The title is wrong, that's a male White-Lined Tanager, also known as the Parson or Singing Angel. The female is a rust red.

Cool :0) I take a lot of pictures in my backyard with my little camera, but not as high a resolution as yours. Great pics. My pics of tanagers and so forth is here; I'm sort of upset that I keep missing the cornbird (Crested Oropendola) when it comes to the feeder. Missed it at least once today... by the time the camera was out, it was gone. :-(
