Thanks much Ananda! One of the reasons I moved from the Canon 10D to the 20D was that it was supposed to have better noise handling software. I think I saw once where iso 1600 on the 20D was comparable to iso 400 on the 10D.
I'm looking to move to the 30D which has the same DiGIC-II sensor as the 20D, but I doubt if the 1600 on the 20D compares with the 400 on the 10D. .. they aren't that far apart. See dpreview's ISO800 comparison for an indication.
