This bird has been hanging around a small park in central Iowa for the last several days. This beautiful bird is an accidental in Iowa with only a few previous sightings. The nesting range includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida and Louisiana. They are mostly monogamous and are solitary or in pairs during breeding season.
