The beak measures up to 30 cm (one foot) and ends in a sharp point... They eat large amounts of fish, mollusks and amphibians. It will also eat fresh carrion and dead fish thus helping maintain the quality of isolated bodies of water... This was from the Rupununi area of southern Guyana at the Karanambu Ranch
