Green Backed Heron - Bird photography and identification
Wing-barred Piprites (Piprites chloris)
Wing-barred Piprites (Piprites chloris)
Photo description
This bird used to be named Wing-barred Manakin and is still considered a manakin but may not actually be. Some people think the overall shape and color pattern more resemble the becards. Also the sexes are similar and the birds often travel in mixed flocks gleaning for insects in foilage. Others think they are more like cotingas. This is about a 25% crop of the original. f/6.3, iso 1600, exp comp minus one, 1/400
