Slender-billed Kite (Helicolestes hamatus)
Slender-billed Kite (Helicolestes hamatus)
Photo description
This bird replaces the Snail Kite in forested areas. It hunts for Pomacea snails from a low perch. Its status is poorly known but its restricted habitat and specialised diet make it vulnerable. It is very local and scarce in Ecuador. f/6.3, iso 1600, exp comp plus 2, 1/1000.
