Photo description
Common in remote, undisturbed forests. Scavenges for forest animals using keen sense of smell and by flying low over canopy. Joins other vultures at carcasses only rarely and only inside wooded areas. From the wooden canopy tower, Sacha Lodge, Ecuador.

Similar ones used to land on our house most mornings at sunrise to warm up in the sun when we lived in West Africa. One distress call of a soon to die chicken and they would come from miles around. Great memories.
