More info on the camera and lens:
The 1D MKII is Canon's new all pro camera and it is 8.2 megapixels with a 1.3x
crop as opposed to the 10D 1.6x. The exposure and metering system is awesome
and the ETTL-2 for flash is also awesome. it shoots 8.5 fps in high speed
mode and will not buffer the shots until you have reached either 20 raw
images or 40 jpeg. The 10D will stop after 9 frames at 3 fps and have to
buffer. The write speed to the 1D MKII is like lightning compared to the 10D
and the AF system is incredibly fast with virtually no shutter lag. The 10D
is a great camera, but it is also what they call a "prosumer" which means it
is half pro half consumer grade camera...the 1D MKII is all pro. It's
around $4,499.99 ( body only ). The 600mm lens is awesome, but it is also over $7,000 USD. It weighs over 12 lbs. but the optics are fantastic. (Lesley Mattuchio)
By comparison the popular Canon 10D body goes for about $1500 and the Canon 100-400mm image stabilized lens also for about $1500. (Kent Nickell)
