Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawk
Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawk
Photo description
Comparison shot of Sharp-shinned Hawk photographed by Kent Nickell in Iowa, left and Cooper's Hawk by Mike McDowell in Wisconsisn. Check out his website at mcdowell. This comparison shows the more squarish head and lankier look of the cooper's and the more 'bug eyed' look of the sharpie.

Absolutely fantastic! Fabulous photos. These photos and info have helped me greatly in indentifying the hawk I photographed in my garden last week. I thought was a Harrier, some thought a Sharp-shinned and I now feel IS a Coopers! Check it out sometime if you like. Wonderful presentation!! Regards~
