Range SE Arizona and S Texas to Costa Rica and extreme W Panama. From La Ensenada ranch on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. the interesting thing about Rose-throated Becard is that the subspecies found in Costa Rica actually has no rose on it whereas the one found in Texas and Arizona does. Doesn't leave much question as to which subspecies is the type specimen
