Photo description
The Limpkin is named for its halting gait. This interesting bird is the only one left in its family. It is confined to the warmer parts of the New World and is nonmigratory but has pronounced local movements according to water levels. At 26 inches it comes in bigger than the Glossy and White-faced Ibis at 23 inches.
